Treava here. In Tikal I climb 4 temples. most were about 65 meters high. On temple 4 the steps were straight up and down and very scary. even more scary was being up on top and looking down. We saw monkeys toucans and lots of other birds.
Lisa here. Currently we sit in Flores Guatemala watching a parade go by. The characters are hillarous. I´ll try and post apicture of the two women kisssing chris.
We just spent 3 days in a small town here going to an ecological spanish school. We got to learn all about tres and fruits and how the grow. Today we went to an animal rescue center and got to hold monkeys. They were absoutely adorable. I can´t believe they have the same number of teeth we have.
We left El Salvador on January 3rd and met up with the Chays in Panajechel. It was great to see fellow alaskan. We toured the paanajachel area for a few days and then headed on to rio dulce. RIO DULCE WAS A breath of fresh air after the touristic panachel. We ended up at a great little spot carved out of the jungle by four swiss fellows who have spent about ten years constucting cabanas, boardwalks, and docks. The next day we hired a launch to take us down the river dulce to the Carribean town of Livingston. It was interesting to see that there was quite a mix of races here including Mayan, carribean and spanish people. Next, we head to Antigua.
hello from treava
